My most recent experience with this phenomenon happened a couple of days ago when Yahoo changed my email page yet again. But, I'm going to adapt. I'm not going to rant as is my right to do as a card carrying curmudgeon. No. Instead, I'm leaning how to work with the new foolishness that some pimply faced digital geek thinks is a better way FOR ME to be doing things (again the parallel with Obamacare is hard to miss).
But there is one point at which I draw the line. This involves the new way Yahoo has of informing it's users that the appropriate files have been deleted after said user (me, in this case) clicks on the "empty" icons for both the Spam and the Trash files. In the case of spam, I am told by the software :"You are my Anti-Spam Hero.", while when I am clever enough to take out the trash, so to speak, I get lauded with "Nice Job, it sure looks tidy in here!" What or who does Yahoo think I am-- a five year old who needs constant encouragement and positive feedback for behaving in a civilzed manner?
I am, in fact, way past the age of consent and I do not need to be be patonized by a machine!!!
