Well, with the approach of the Redskins game, the local hype included coverage of the aforementioned church and interviews with it's pastor who claimed that he was really hoping that the success of the prayer campaign would lead Jerry Jones, the Cowboy's owner, to part with some of his gazillions of dollars and make a contribution to the church---good luck with that, Pastor (while you're at it why don't you wish for the moon? Don't forget this is a guy who charges $8 for a Coke in the Stadium that we, the residents of Arlington Texas financed for him. I don't see him using his own money to contribute to local churches.)
Observing all this activity with her customary, perceptive grasp of key issues, my wife, who considers herself the ACLU of Sport and who saw no good reason for the Lord to be asked to inject himself into National Football League, decided to bring suit in the "Supreme Court of the Firmament" in order to obtain an injunction against such involvement . To wit: she offered her own prayer to the Almighty to disregard any and all football oriented supplications from Paris, Texas, and the effort seems to have worked 'cuz the 'Skins won. Let's hear it for separation of Church and Sport!!!!
