Speaking of Florida, on 9 July of this year, three black teenagers, all of whom are reported to be 15 years old, attacked and pummelled a 13 year old white teen as they were riding on a school bus in Gulfport, Florida. The reported motive for the attack was that the 13 year old told school officials that the black teens had offered to sell him marijuana. The beating took place as the bus driver looked on and had harsh words for the attackers but did not interfere in any physical way, including failing to help the victim once the assault was over. If you doubt my word, you can see the video which went viral on the web and shows the attack in pretty vivid detail. Just Google it. The result of the incident for the white kid was two black eyes and a broken arm and the black kids are reportedly due in court on 27 August.
Does anyone expect a "media circus" to occur on that day in Florida? Will "The Reverends" Jackson and Sharpton put in an appearance? Will the President hold a press conference and make a statement that those three black kids could have been his sons? Will he say that they were good boys who just turned bad because they were followed through a department store? I THOUGHT NOT!
To be sure, the Gulfport police have released a statment to the effect that there were no racial overtones in this incident. But then, again, The FBI released a similar report about the Trayvon Martin shooting and that did not seem to have any effect on Al Sharpton's, Jessie Jackson's or Mr. Obama's desire to get in front of a camera and ponificate.
My point is that the silence, about this incident, among the leadership of the "Black Community" is DEAFENING when they could have used this opportunity to foster some rational discussion, versus protest marches and hate speech, about the racial tensions which plague our citizens both black and white.
