Why do you suppose it is that when President Obama had 2.5 million illegal criminal aliens arrested by ICE and deported, I don't remember any news coverage, let alone TV appearances by Univision News anchor and champion of illegals, Jorge Ramos ripping photos in half to dramatize the plight of illegal immigrant parents being "torn" from their children? So, how come when ICE (by their own testimony) executes raids planned under the Obama administration, but carried out under President Trump, the left and many news outlets paint it like a renewal of The Warsaw Ghetto?
Why do you suppose it is that liberals (or progressives as they like to characterize themselves these days) who claim to believe strongly in the right of free speech, behave (as recent events at Berkeley indicate), as if that right extends only to those people with whom they agree?
Why do you suppose it is that when people who are generally on the right side of the political spectrum characterize their opposite numbers on the left, they tend to say that the left's views are ill informed, wrong headed and/or naive. However, when people on the left characterize those on the right, they maintain that the conservative view and those who hold it are not only anti-black, anti-poor, anti-LGBT and anti-immigrant, but that they are EVIL. OBTW, if you don't believe me, check out Bob Burnett's blog "What Do Liberals Believe?" and anything else he's written on the Huffington Post website.
Why do you suppose it is that the protesters and marchers in what turned into the recent riots in Berkeley, as well as those in Washington, D.C. and elsewhere around the country following the Trump inauguration, while exercising their First Amendment right to assemble to petition the government for redress of grievances seemed to have forgotten the part that reads:"...peaceably to assemble..."? Based on the video reports I saw, those folks came to the event(s) with their their claw hammers and baseball bats in hand to facilitate window smashing and other property damage. Don't tell me those were peaceful demonstrations that TURNED violent. They came looking for trouble.
Why do you suppose it is that President Trump seems to be making a herculean effort to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? He was on something of a roll in the first days after taking the oath, having just won a significant election by appealing to the large portion of the electorate who felt neglected by the incumbent political leadership because of political correctness and the Democrats' obsession with identity politics. He was having meetings and issuing executive order with abandon. But of late he has let disarray amongst his staff, as well as his feud with the press, his own petty bickering, his thin skinned name calling and ill considered tweets to keep him from doing the peoples' business. Indeed, while in the first weeks of his administration, Mr. Trump was at pains to make good on some of his most challenging campaign promises (i.e. extreme vetting, deportation of criminal illegal aliens, building "The Wall", etc.) and stirring up a hornet's nest in the process, he neglected to deliver on, perhaps, the easiest to accomplish promise of all. I refer of course to his promise made many times to supporters during the campaign when he said, with characteristically raised index finger for increased emphasis, that, when (not if) elected, he would "...BE Sooooooo PRESIDENTIAL!"
I'm still waiting for that one to be made good. But, frankly, I don't hold out much hope.
